Text2Typo was designed and commissioned by Ori Mor and developed by Iddo Sadeh for Ori’s 2025 experimental design project at Shenkar. Development began in December 2024.
The original app used GPT-4o to translate written prompts into changes to 3D typography. Three.js renders the text in the browser; the AI changes parameters rather than generating images.
This update restores the app with fixes to rendering, mobile controls and exports, and adds preset scenes that work without AI.
AI now runs through OpenRouter, with a choice of ten models. Normally, each visitor can use three successful prompts in total, across all models, subject to a shared spending limit. An anonymous cookie records this allowance for 90 days. Manual controls, presets and exports remain available when AI is unavailable.
